2.4.2 How to Reboot a User Terminal Remotely via the Portal
The Orbius
Portal allows remote reboot of any User Terminal without a physical site visit.
Use this as a first troubleshooting step for unresponsive terminals, degraded
performance, or stuck telemetry.
Steps:
1. Navigate to the Service Line Details page
2. In the Devices section, click the Reboot button next to
the terminal listing
3. The portal sends a reboot command — the terminal will
go offline for 2–5 minutes
4. Monitor the telemetry panel — a successful reboot shows
metrics dropping to zero and recovering

|
📌 Note:
A successful reboot is
confirmed when telemetry drops to zero (terminal offline) and resumes
(terminal back online) — there is no separate confirmation message. Firmware
updates may apply during the reboot, causing a slightly longer downtime.
Do not reboot unnecessarily — use only when a problem is identified.

When to reboot
- Terminal unresponsive or showing no throughput despite
'Online' status
- Stuck telemetry metrics (no change over an extended
period)
- After firmware update notification
- After changing L2VPN VLAN configuration
- After a cable reconnection or physical move of the
terminal
- After enabling public IP
