0.1 Welcome to Orbius — What You Need to Know

Who is Orbius?

Orbius is a Starlink Authorized Reseller and Integrator, specialized in delivering carrier-grade satellite connectivity services to the telecommunications industry. Orbius services operate over dedicated priority data pools, meaning enterprise traffic takes precedence over residential Starlink traffic during congestion — making them suitable for business-critical deployments.

What does Orbius provide?

Orbius delivers its services through the Network-as-a-Service (NaaS) model:
  1. Starlink hardware: Starlink User Terminals procured through Orbius as a Starlink Authorized Reseller and Integrator
  2. Priority data pools: dedicated capacity, with precedence over residential data, available as Local (country-level) or Global pools
  3. Orbius Portal: a carrier-grade self-service platform at portal.orbius.com for end-to-end lifecycle management of Starlink service lines
  4. Orbius API portfolio: programmatic interface allowing integration with operators' OSS / BSS enalbing automation of lifecycle management; authenticated and secured via the Apigee API gateway
  5. L2VPN connectivity (optional): private Layer 2 Ethernet transport from the Starlink User Terminal directly into the operator core, bypassing the public internet entirely
  6. Support: Orbius handles L2 and L3 escalation; you own L1, and customer-facing interaction

Your responsibilities

Operationally, operator remains the customer facing service provider, responsible for contracting, billing, installation, and first line support. Orbius acts as the wholesale and integration partner, providing terminals, data pools, private interconnect, the Network as a Service platform, and second and third line support.

Commercial:

  1. Contract directly with the end customer as the service provider, managing MSAs, SLAs, and pricing
  2. Bill and invoice the customer for connectivity services, including recurring subscription fees, data overage charges, and any value-added services
  3. Own the customer relationship end-to-end — handling escalations, renewals, and upsells without Orbius involvement at the customer layer

Deployment:

  1. Conduct site survey and validate unobstructed sky view using the Starlink App
  2. Physically install the Starlink antenna at the site
  3. Complete User Acceptance Testing (UAT) confirming connectivity meets KPI thresholds

Operations:

  1. Activate the antenna by creating a Service Line in the Orbius Portal
  2. Configure the service line (subscription plan, L2VPN VLAN settings, public IP)
  3. Manage data plans, overages, and service line lifecycle changes
  4. Monitor real-time telemetry and respond to operational alerts

Support:

  1. Provide Level 1 (L1) support to your end-customers — site-level investigation and first-line resolution
  2. Escalate to Orbius (L2) or Starlink (L3) via the Help Center ticketing system when issues exceed L1 scope

📌  Note:

Orbius does not typically install hardware on your behalf. The self-service model means you control deployment speed and operations, with Orbius providing the platform and escalation path.

Typical use cases
  1. Enterprise primary connectivity: high-throughput broadband where terrestrial fibre is unavailable
  2. Redundant / failover connectivity: LEO satellite as resilient backup to terrestrial fibre for both enterprises and critical nodes (e.g., local exchanges)
  3. Cellular backhaul: extending mobile network coverage to remote or temporary sites
  4. Government and critical infrastructure: priority connectivity for public sector and utilities
  5. Maritime and mobility: in-motion connectivity for vessels and vehicles
  6. IoT and industrial: remote monitoring and operations in underserved locations
