1.1.1 Installation Pre-Requisites Checklist

1.1.1 Installation Pre-Requisites Checklist

⚠️  Important:

Do not schedule an installation visit until every item in this checklist is confirmed. Skipping this step is the single most common cause of failed deployments.

1. Commercial and access pre-requisites

Signed agreement with Orbius, including access to the Orbius Portal and an active data pool in the country of operation

Landlord or property permission, written authorisation for rooftop, facade, or pole mounting

Terminal assigned to your Orbius Portal account, hardware must appear in the Portal before a Service Line can be created. If not visible, contact support@orbius.com

2. Site survey completed

A full site survey must be completed and signed off before installation. See Article 1.1.2 — How to Conduct a Site Survey for the full procedure. Mandatory outputs:

Obstruction percentage: <0.27% (validated via Starlink App)

Starlink App result shows 'Clear view of the sky'

Power source confirmed at installation point

Cable route planned end-to-end (antenna to router) with no sharp bends

Router location indoors or fully weather-protected

3. Terminal serial number recorded

Write down the terminal serial number before installation — it is the unique identifier used to assign the terminal in the Orbius Portal.

Terminal model

Serial number format

Starlink Mini

KIT4MXXXXXXXXXXX

Starlink Enterprise

KIT4EXXXXXXXX

Starlink Performance Gen 2

KITPXXXXXXXXX

Starlink Performance Gen 3

KIT4PXXXXXXXXXXX

📌  Note:

The serial number is printed on the shipping label and on the terminal itself. Store it securely, you will not be able to recover it easily after installing the device.

4. Additional pre-requisites for L2VPN deployments

Edge switch or router physically present at the site

Port configured in 802.1Q trunk mode, required for VLAN tagging to the UT

Direct RJ45 Ethernet cable from edge router/switch to Starlink UT

VLAN IDs and PoP selection agreed with Orbius in advance

Orbius has provisioned an L2VPN-enabled subscription plan on your account

📌  Note:

L2VPN VLAN configuration in the Orbius Portal requires an active L2VPN subscription. See Section 3 for full L2VPN architecture and deployment guide.
