2.3.2 How to Enable and Manage Data Overage

2.3.2 How to Enable and Manage Data Overage

Data Overage allows a Service Line to consume additional data beyond its base monthly plan, preventing throttling to ~1 Mbps when the base allowance is exhausted. It is the recommended tool for handling usage spikes without permanently upgrading the plan.

Enable overage:

1.    Navigate to the Service Line Details page

2.    Click Manage Overage

3.    In the dialog, enable overage and enter the Amount (GB) of additional data to permit

4.    Optionally set an End Date — if no end date is set, overage defaults to expire at end of the current billing month

5.    Confirm

Delete overage:

To remove an existing overage configuration before its expy:

1.    Open the Service Line Details page

2.    Click Manage Overage

3.    Select Delete Overage and confirm

Deleting overage is recorded in the Audit Trail. If the terminal has already consumed data beyond its base plan, removing overage will cap it at that point.
