Idea Abstract
The main horizontal menu bar could be improved by displaying a drop-down with the most commonly used choices visible. This would allow a user to add a post to a blog, or add an event to a calendar directly from anywhere in the Orb.

Idea Details
A key tenet of good web design is to make the main choices easily available.  The fewer mouse clicks required, the better the interface.  The easier a system is to use, the more it will get used.

Presently you have to hunt for the most common actions.  It would be better if the menus had drop-downs or fly-outs that showed the most common options directly.

This will also save a lot of hits to the servers!
